Soundtheory just released Gullfoss (named after that huge waterfall in Iceland btw), an intelligent automatic equalizer plugin that uses “unique computational auditory perception technology” to identify and resolve problems in your track or mix.

Gullfoss is even capable of fixing balancing issues between different sound elements without access to the individual tracks. The internal auditory model allows Gullfoss to make objective decisions about the perceived sound.

You get five controls: Recover, tame, bias och brighten och boost, and by adjusting these you help Gullfoss help you get clarity, details, depth and balance by adjusting the sound more than 100 times per second . I have yet to to try this myself but it sounds intriguing.

As of now there’s only a Mac version available, but according to Soundtheory the PC version will be released later this year.
